The idea behind GarinFarm was borne many years back when the man behind it was still in his youth.  Since he was a child, Oscar ‘Oca’ Garin has always been fascinated with nature. And this passion for the natural world was further fueled when he discovered that with man’s awareness of his own surroundings and with the proper application of technology, nature can give man everything he wants in life.

Oscar Garin decided to share his realization that nature does not only nurture man’s primary needs but also fulfils his need for leisure and recreation. Because of his commitment to disseminate agricultural information as former Congressman of the 1st District of Iloilo and Administrator of the Philippine Coconut Authority, many people were able to make a living, provide for their families, and improve the quality of their lives.

However, ‘Oca’ does not simply wish to impart agricultural know-how; he wants to share something more profound – the importance of spiritual connection and invigoration.   As a man of deep faith and gratitude, ‘Oca’ wanted to create a place where people, just like him, can commune with the “Almighty” and celebrate His glory.

Because of Oscar Garin’s desire to share the wonders of nature and celebrate the grace of the Almighty, the idea of GarinFarm came to fruition and was established in San Joaquin, Iloilo.  According to him, GarinFarm is not meant to add more glory to the Divine, because the Divine Almighty is perfection in itself.  Rather, the objective of GarinFarm is to make people aware of and remind them of the glory and grace of the Almighty.

The realization of GarinFarm in San Joaquin is a symbol of great achievement and the fulfillment of a lifelong dream of a judicious and determined young man who has turned himself into the renowned and respected political and business kingpin of the first district of Iloilo.

With the realization of GarinFarm, Oscar “Oca” Garin is able to help people through livelihood and recreation, and more so, he has become an instrument in touching people’s lives through his meaningful presentation of God’s beautiful creation. Indeed, GarinFarm is Oca’s obra maestra, or masterpiece, that everyone can likewise embrace and enjoy.
